“This post is going up later than I meant it to” is becoming a theme, isn’t it? XD Today I was supposed to go see Star Wars: Rogue One, but it was sold out, so we saw Moana instead. (Secret: I actually wanted to see Moana more, so this worked out in my favor.) I loved it! I don’t know how much longer it will be in theaters since it’s been out awhile at this point, but I really recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet.

So, today, I will be sharing the recipe for another of my favorite holiday goodies, “Snowball Cookies.” This is what I have always called them, but I learned about a week ago that they are actually called “Russian Tea Cookies,” but I called them “Snowball Cookies” as a kid because that’s what they look like, and the name stuck.

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. powder sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp. milk
  • 2-1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Cream butter and sugar. Add salt, vanilla and milk; mix well. Add flour and stir–if it seems like it’s too hard to mix, add more milk as needed. Once dough is thoroughly mixed, chill for about two hours so the dough will be easy to handle. Form the dough into roughly 1-inch balls. Place on a cookie sheet and bake around 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately after removing from the oven, roll cookies in powdered sugar (the sugar adheres better the warmer the cookies are). Let cool and enjoy!
