Ten years ago

It seems incredible to believe, but ten years ago today, my debut novel, Fourth World, was published!

Over the last ten years, I have:

  • Published the entire Iamos Trilogy (three novels, a novella, and several short stories)
  • Published four additional novels under two pen names
  • Edited two anthologies
  • Contributed stories to six other anthologies

When I put it that way, I’m actually surprised I’ve managed to do so much! When my health problems flare up, it feels like I do a whole lot of nothing, but this goes to show that slow progress really is still progress!

A New Iamos Short Story

In addition the sale, I am so excited to be bringing you a new short story today, a bonus epilogue to One World written from Tamara’s POV. When I first completed One World, my one regret was that there wasn’t space in the book to let us see what several of the side characters, such as Scylla, Henry, and particularly Tamara were up to at the end of the series. We got good resolution for Isaak and Nadin, and a cursory mention of the others, but some of their storylines were left a bit hanging. Since then, I have intended to write a bonus epilogue that would fill in those gaps. And what better day to release this final story of the Iamos universe than on the tenth anniversary of the first book’s publication?

This bonus epilogue, “As a New Day Dawns,” is available now on my Patreon for both free and paid members. If you prefer print, it will be available at the end of One World in the special edition print copies that will be available through Kickstarter this June.

Kickstarter News

After having to postpone the Kickstarter that had been planned for earlier this year, I am intending to run the campaign in June of 2026. You may recall that this Kickstarter was originally intended to fund audiobook productions of the series. After losing my original producer, I attempted to find a way to self-produce the audiobooks instead, and even had a couple narrators who were interested in the project; but at the end of the day, with current economic factors, with how long these books are, and with the books having dual narrators (and in the case of One World, quadruple narrators), it would have required an astronomical budget in order to be feasibleβ€”and would have entailed astronomically priced reward tiers in order to cover both the cost of the rewards and the audiobook production. So I have, unfortunately, decided to throw in the towel on the audiobook portion of the campaign.

That said, the special edition hardcovers were still more than doable! So I am pleased to announce that the Kickstarter will be going ahead in June for special 10th anniversary edition hardcovers for the whole series, including a deluxe edition boxed set with metallic foil, sprayed edges, a slipcase, and more. Watch this space for more information as the date approaches!

Thank you all again for your support of the Iamos Trilogy and my writing career as a whole over the last 10 years. I’m excited to share new stories with you over the coming years, including my ongoing serial novel (exclusively available on Patreon) and a brand-new anthology releasing in fall 2026. Watch this space!
