We’re about a week from the original deadline for Circuits & Slippers, and it was getting pretty apparent that many people were struggling to get their stories in by that date. (Including your editors.) So, the Deadline Fairy has kindly waved her magic wand and granted an extension!

The new deadline for getting your stories submitted is Friday, May 6. You now have a whole extra month! SO GET WRITING. /doom

For those of you who have already sent your submissions and have been so patiently waiting for a response, we have been reading your submissions and don’t want to keep you waiting any longer. So:

  • Stories received by April 1 that we know we are going to pass on will be sent notification no later than April 8. If we pass on your story, you are welcome to submit a new story! There are several we got—particularly early on in the submission period, before we posted our FAQs—that were original “fairy tale” stories rather than adaptations of existing fairy tales, and we realize we may not have been clear enough in the directions, so we want to give these authors a chance to submit again.
  • Stories that we are still considering are staying on the consideration pile, so please be patient—just one more month! 🙂
  • We anticipate final notification for all stories will be made by May 20, 2016.

Finally, on an unofficial note: while we have not made any final decisions, we have received multiple excellent submissions for “Rapunzel” and “Little Red Riding Hood.” So you may want to pick a new story if you were considering adapting one of those.

If you have any questions, check the FAQs, and if you still don’t see your answer, feel free to shoot me an email.

We hope that the extended deadline will help authors be able to finish their stories in time! We’re looking forward to reading your submissions.
